Universität Siegen

The University of Siegen is a young university. It was founded in 1972 as one of five new comprehensive universities in North Rhine-Westphalia and renamed the University of Siegen in 2003. Today, the University of Siegen is a medium-sized, interdisciplinary research university with regional roots and extensive national and international networks. It owes its current structure to a process of profiling in terms of content and structure. The overarching goal of the University of Siegen is to contribute to a humane future and to assume responsibility for people and society. This is expressed in the guiding principle of the University of Siegen: Shaping a humane future.
